Hi Supermoms,
With winters setting in, evening snacks have become a regular in my kitchen. While we all love deep fried snacks, we also need to balance our diet to ensure that we don't over do it. I am sure many of you will agree with me. However the best part of these snacks is that you can use different vegetables to make them which means it is a great way to get your children to consume vegetables.
Cauliflowers are in season now and winter cauliflower tastes so amazing. Initially, I had planned to make Cauliflower Manchurian (with gravy) to serve along with fried rice that I had made for lunch. But as the family was very hungry that day and wanted to have lunch earlier than usual, I skipped it. So I used the grated cauliflower/ Gobi to make an innovative and delicious snack for tea time. You will realise that, the recipe I am sharing today, is one of the best ways to use cauliflower.
Happy to present, "Gobi Paniyarams.
A simple and tasty snack that can be made in minutes! All you need are fresh cauliflowers, few ingredients and the paniyaram/appe pan. Important tip: Grate cauliflowers in the right way!
How I grate Cauliflower :
Just remove the leaves of the cauliflower and let the flowers remain intact. Wash it under the tap. You can also pour hot water on top of the whole cauliflower (optional). Pat dry them. Hold the stem and grate the entire head of the cauliflower.
You can prepare the gobi balls in advance and keep it refrigerated( in the freezer compartment) till you fry them. You can skip onion if you are going to freeze and fry them later. When hunger strikes, you can cook a delicious snack within minutes.
